She ran out the back door thinking she could outsmart the intruder but he was too fast. It seemed like no matter which way she went he was one step ahead. She hid in the bushes along the trail and she could see him walking through the shadows down the path. Her heart pounded so hard in her chest that she knew for sure that he could hear it.
